"If Looks Could Kill" is one of the highlights from Camera Obscura's wonderful album Let's Get Out of This Country. The pounding percussion, VU-guitars, and tremendous melody make it a highlight of 2006 as well. The other two songs are fine B-sides: "Hands Up Baby" is a restrained and atmospheric ballad penned by guitarist Kenny McKeeve, whereas "Alaska"'s an organ-heavy rocker with some nice references to trees (when was the last time you heard anyone singing about sycamores, birches, or hawthorns?) and a solid groove. You'll absolutely need this EP to complete your CO collection. [The 7' version of the single replaces both B-sides with a cover of "I Love How You Love Me."]
