Jean-Michel Pilc

Considered one of the most gifted jazz pianists of his generation, Jean-Michel Pilc (b. 1960) established his reputation in France, where he produced the album Big One (1992) and rubbed shoulders with a number of giants. Settled in New York since 1995 and now an American citizen, he has been involved in a wide range of collaborations, releasing both trio albums(Live at Sweet Basil 1 & 2 in 1999) and soloalbums (Follow Me in 2004). An internationally acclaimed soloist, he went on to record the albums New Dreams (2007) and True Story (2010). In 2011, he released two new albums, Essential as a soloist and live performer, and Threedom as a trio with his faithful companions François Moutin and Ari Hoenig. 2015 sees the release of What Is This Thing Called? a collection of solo piano works.
