Mixhell
Mixhell are an electro DJ/remix duo from Brazil featuring longtime Sepultura drummer Igor Cavalera and his wife, Laima Leyton. Born on September 4, 1970, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Cavalera is the younger brother of vocalist/guitarist Max Cavalera, with whom he founded influential thrash metal band Sepultura in 1984. After years of success and acclaim in the metal underground, including such classic albums as Arise (1991) and Chaos A.D. (1993), Max left Sepultura in 1996 (subsequently founding the popular metal band Soulfly) and Igor eventually left in 2006. Shortly after leaving Sepultura, Cavalera founded Mixhell with Leyton and they began performing live DJ sets as Mixhell. They also specialized in remix work, releasing much of it via the Internet. One of their most circulated releases was a January 2008 podcast on XLR8R.com that kicks off with a couple electro edits of Iron Maiden.
